About El Fant

El Fant is a specialty café in the heart of Helsinki, listed among Finland’s top 30 cafés. We serve high-quality hand-brewed coffee sourced from Finland and around the world, featuring freshly roasted beans carefully selected and curated by our baristas. Our daily lunch includes salads, pastas, and sourdough toasts, and many say we make the best carrot cake in town, along with other delightful house-made desserts. You can also take home our curated selection of freshly roasted coffee beans. Beyond coffee and food, El Fant is a welcoming space where music, art, and community come together.

Shanghai Xiaolongbao Pop-Up 🥢

We’re excited to welcome Lacey (@laceysuomessa) for a 5-day pop-up at El Fant. This time, she’s bringing soup-filled dumplings to our lunch table.
From Jan 26 to Jan 30, we’ll be serving handmade Shanghai-style xiaolongbao — thin-skinned, juicy, and full of flavour. The set menu includes 7 dumplings (vegan option available) and a chilled sesame cabbage salad.

El Fant is a small café that happens to host a lot of life.
We run jazz nights, book gatherings, art pop-ups, workshops and seasonal tastings. Some events are loud, some are quiet, all are made with intention.
If you’re curious, come by. Something is usually happening here.

El Fant has created its first espresso blend, brought to life together with Inka Paahtimo in Helsinki. Washed coffees from Peru and Costa Rica. Medium dark, smooth, lightly chocolatey. 100% Arabica. Balanced and warm, the way we like it.

Available as espresso at El Fant Café & Bar and in bags to take home.
